Peshawar: Senior Vice-President of the Awami National Party Senator Haji
Adeel on Tuesday requested Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry to take a suo moto
notice on the May 12 tragedy and launch a probe into the killings.

Paying homage to the martyrs and injured people of the tragedy, he urged the
Chief Justice to launch a probe into the brutal killigs of those who struggled
for independence of judiciary and reinstatement of the Chief Justice.

Talking to APP on the third anniversary of the event, the Senator urged Sindh
government to pay compensatory amounts to the families of those murdered who had
reached Karachi to welcome the arrival of the cheif justice in karachi. He siad,
50 people were killed in the tragedy, 39 of those were Awami National Party or
from Pakhtun community but unfortunately, not even an FIR of the incident has
been registered.

Meanwhile, Senior Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bashir Ahmad Bilour also asked
Chief Justice of Pakistan to take serious notice of May 12th tragedy.

"If CJ is taking suo motu notice of every event, how can he ignore the May
12th event when 23 ANP workers were assasinated in a day light in Karachi?"
Bashir Bilour was addressing a cermoney at Baacha Khan Markaz Peshawar organised
by ANP Peshawar city chapter.
