announced to join Awami National Party along with their other colleagues and
said that it is need of the hour to unite under the leadership of Asfandyar Wali
Gohar Khan was elected MPA in the recently held elections after the
assassination of his brother MPA Akhtar Nawaz Khan in Abbotabad early this year.
They announced this at a ceremony held at the residence of Arbab Najeebullah
Khan. Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour, Information Minister Mian Iftikhar
Hussain, and Provincial Minister for sports and culture Syed Aqil Shah and
General Secretary Tajuddin Khan were also present on the occasion.
“We are follower of non-violent philosophy of Baacha Khan and no one can remove
us through such terrorist acts,” Remarked by ANP Provincial President Afrasiab
Khattak while addressing the ceremony.
“The nation has given us heavy mandated on February 18 election and we must
respect this mandate. Some hidden elements want to sabotage the new democratic
government but they would not succeed in their nefarious designs,” he added.
He said that the government withdrew lands from those agreed on 17th amendment
and that it is why they were leveling allegation against ANP for greater
Pukhtoonistan. Provincial minister for information and senior Minister Bashir
Ahmad Bilour said that no religion of the world allows killing of innocent
people through suicide attacks and those who commit it are anti-state element.
