Peshawar. The Awami National Party on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the
attitude of the electronic media of Pakistan towards the party and formed a
special cell to take up the issue with the news channels.

A meeting in this regard was presided over by the party’s provincial
president Senator Afrasiab Khattak. General Secretary of ANP Pakhtunkhwa Arbab
Mohammad Tahir Khan Khalil, deputy secretary general Haroon Bilour, secretary
information Malik Ghulam Mustafa, vice president Hameedur Rehman Mohammadzai,
newly elected ANP MPA Engineer Sajaddullah, joint director of Baacha Khan Trust
Zalan Moomand, co-coordinators of Pakhtoon Magazine & Online services Liaqat
Seemab and Zahid Buneray attended the meeting beside provincial Minister for
Information and Culture Mian Iftikhar Hussain was also invited on special basis.

The meeting expressed dissatisfaction on the coverage given to ANP by the
electronic media. The participants said other political parties were receiving
huge coverage while the events of the Awami National Party were ignored by the
TV news channels.

ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan addressed a large public gathering in his
hometown Charsadda on December 23rd. However, the ANP office bearers and workers
complained that the news channels did not give proper coverage to the event.

The party’s central spokesman Senator Zahid Khan in a talk show complained
that despite his repeated requests to the management of all the major news
channels the party’s Charsadda gathering was not covered. He complained that
hours-long marathon coverage was given to Imran Khan’s public meeting in
Karachi.

The meeting formed a special cell comprising Haroon Bilour, Malik Mustafa,
Hameed-ur-Rahman Mhammadzai and Mian Mushtaq to meet the in-charges of the
respective news channels and inform them about the sentiments of people as well
as to ensure proper converge in future.
