A meeting of the Awami National Party, Peshawar chapter, held on Wednesday,
asking the international community to help the displaced persons in this trying
time.

Presided over by ANP district president Mian Mushtaq Ahmad, the meeting was
also attended by provincial president Senator Afrasiab Khattak, Hashim Babar,
Tajuddin Khan, provincial minister sports Syed Aqil Shah, Arbab Najibullah, and
party’s provincial secretary information Arbab Mohammad Tahir Khan. Presidents
of union councils and the party workers also attended the meeting.

The meeting thoroughly discussed matters regarding the solution of problems
being faced by internally displaced persons, as well as political situation.
Speaking at the meeting, Afrasiyab Khattak said the Pakhtuns were permanent
citizens of Pakistan and no one could stop them from entering any part of the
country. He criticised the “dual policies” of the Jamaat-Islami, saying the JI
should clear its position -whether it is with the terrorists or the state. He
said the provincial government had signed the Nizam-e-Adl Regulation as it was
the longstanding demand of the people of Malakand division.
