Peshawar. Prominent political and social figure from Kohat, and former Chief
Justice Peshawar High Court Justice (Rtd) Syed Ibn Ali announced resignation
from Pakistan People Party and association to Awami National party in presence
of ANP Provincial President Afraseyab Khattak and Chief Minister Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti here at CM House on Thursday. The CM termed
his inclusion in caravan of Bcha Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan, as a good omen
for Pakhtuns unity, added, current state of the region demand unity among
Pakhtuns. Provincial Minister Amjid Afridi, ANP Provincial General secretary
Arbab Muhammad Tahir Khan Khalil, district president Saed Shah Bukhari and large
number of notables from Bangash faction. ANP Provincial President Afraseyab
Khattak also addressed the gathering.


The CM said that ANP was the real major representative party of the Pakhtuns
and this relation of Justice (Rtd) Syed Ibn Ali was purely for services,
sincerity and welfare of his area and not personal interests. He said that his
life was open and spotless. He paid tributes to Justice (Rtd) Syed Ibn Ali on
his services for unity among Muslims and said that Islamic brotherhood and
religious harmony flourishes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa particularly in southern
districts, added, external elements tried to sow the seeds of dissent. He said
that these evil designs can be thwarted through collective efforts. He expressed
satisfaction over peaceful completion of Muharam due to collective efforts of
Ulemas, people, security agencies and administration, added, extremists, not
finding opportunity from within, have fired rocket from faraway.   He said that
anti state elements were trying different excuses for tarnishing unity among the
people and were aiming to wreak havoc and devastation, added, there was no room
for their conspiracies if we were united.

The CM issued directives to SMBR and Commissioner for resolving Muhammad Zai
issue. He suggested establishment of committee for security arrangements in the
area including Shahu and said that ANP Kohat president and Justice (Rtd) Syed
Ibn Ali should select 8, 10 people from representative jirgav  in order their
meeting should be arranged with Commissioner and Secretary home for solution to
their problems.  The CM promised for pace up in ongoing work on 132 KV line.
Regarding provision of gas, the CM said that new connection have been banned at
Federal Level due to gas crisis in the country, however, he said that the case
with Kohat was different, added, people have the first right over gas in
southern districts and efforts will be undertaken in this regard. He said that
pace of work on road in the area will be increased, added, it was Rs. 1 billion
project. He said that Ustarzai Bridge costing Rs. 12 crore has been approved. He
issued directives appointment of staff on emergency basis in RHC and provision
of medicines and modern machinery. He said that the government was working on
priority basis for spreading light of education and sub campuses of Abdul Wali
Khan University Mardan have been established in different districts. The CM
approved Government Girls Degree College in Ustarzai which will be started as
non ADP this year. The CM offered red cap of ANP to Justice (Rtd) Syed Ibn Ali.

Earlier, Justice (Rtd) Syed Ibn Ali announcing resignation from People party,
has said that Bangash Family extend from Kohat to Parachinar and our elders had
played religious and political role in the area, added, who had always practiced
politics of services and humanity. He said that he was joining ANP as an
ordinary worker beyond any personal interests. He lauded services of ANP for
protection of the motherland, national survival and development and assured that
he will maintain this relation till his last breath and will leave no stone
unturned for strength of the party. He also threw light on problems of his area
and said that we were deprived from fruits of development in the past.

ANP Provincial President Afraseyab Khattak congratulated Justice (Rtd) Syed
Ibn Ali on joining ANP and termed it a historical decision. He announced
membership of ANP Provincial Executive Council to Justice (Rtd) Syed Ibn Ali and
said that his association to the party along with entire Bangash tribe will
strengthen ANP. He said that the country was passing a critical stage at the
moment that demands mutual unity. He said that under current membership
campaign, ANP registered record 23 lac members which prove that ANP was the
largest political force of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He further added that sapling
planted by Bacha Khan has now turned to a stout and shady tree for the Pakhtuns
which was capable of bearing any sort of calamity. He said that ANP was the sole
claimer of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that was why ANP was targeted in rendering loss to
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that history of the region clarify that pakhtuns
being a nation can’t be defeated. He said that Kohat was a beautiful garland of
Bangash, Afridi, Khattak, Shinwari and other tribes, added, ANP was their
guardian. He announced Rs. 2 crore from special fund for PK-38.
