Chief Minister Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti has condemned the suicide blast at the
gate of Peshawar Press Club in strong words and expressed deep sorrow and grief
over the loss of precious lives. He immediately directed for the probe of the
blast and said that the sacrifices of security personnel and journalists against
the terrorists will not gone waste and neither their morals will go down.

The Chief Minister said that the sacrifice of the security personnel has once
again impeded huge destruction which is highly commendable. The Chief Minister
expressed sorrow and solidarity with the journalists’ community over the
incident and said that the law enforcement operation against the terrorists will
continue till their elimination.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister visited Peshawar Press Club and examined the place
of the bomb blast. Speaker Provincial Assembly Karamat Ullah Chagharmatti and
Provincial Minister for Information Mian Iftekhar Hussain were also present on
the occasion. The CM offered dua for the Shuhadas and speedy health of the
injured and expressed solidarity with the affected families. He inquired the
Press Club’s Chairman Shamim Shahid and General Secretary Muhammad Ali about the
detail of the incident. They apprised the Chief Minister about the incident and
said that the accountant of the press club is severely injured, however, efforts
are underway for securing his life, while 20 other people are injured which
include staff of the press club and passer-by passengers, they declared.

Ameer Haider Khan Hoti  lauded bravery, courage and spirit of the
journalists and expressed solidarity with them on behalf of government and
people of the province. The chief minister also asked for submission of report
from concerned authorities regarding the matter of alternative route for the
press club. Later on talking to media-men, he strongly condemned the blast and
termed it a coward act. He said that it is difficult to say and write the truth
in public in normal circumstances and in today’s severe circumstances it is no
more less than a Jihad. The CM paid salam to the greatness and spirit of media
and said that media has played a vital role in unveiling the conspiracies woven
for weakening the state and evil designs of the terrorists. The chief minister
said that the sacrifice of the security personnel has once again impeded huge
destruction adding that the personnel of Pakhtunkhwa Police are performing their
duties despite risking their lives.
