Chitral: Chief Minister Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti has said that the war of
survival of the country is underway in this province and we are proud of it. He
reaffirmed the resolve for rendering any sort of sacrifice for winning this war
at any cost adding that unity against the enemies to the state beyond politics,
ideologies and flags must be our topmost responsibility. He expressed these
views while addressing a grand jirga of local notables and all political parties
on his one day visit to Chitral on Monday.

The Chief Minister said that the terrorists have expressed their barbarism by
shedding the blood of innocent people in Swat and the people of the province are
committed for routing the enemies to the state. He paid rich tributes to the
peace loving people of Chitral and law enforcement agencies and asserted that
they should not allow the miscreants to mix in their ranks. The Chief Minister
said that the under construction Luwari Tunnel has been opened for the
passengers for two hours daily basis keeping in view the difficulties of the
people of district Chitral and provision of security on both side of the tunnel
has been taken by the provincial government adding that necessary equipments and
machinery has reached the Luwari Tunnel Project for this purpose.
Haider Khan Hoti said that the Luwari Rail Tunnel has been changed to Road
Tunnel in order to connect the province with the Asian routes via Chitral. He
said that foreigners working on the project will be provided complete security
and by the grace of God this great project will complete in the reign of real
heirs of Bacha Khan and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. The CM said that the
project will play a role of mile stone in the financial development of the
people of Chitral. He lauded the efforts of federal minister for communication
Dr. Arbab Alamgir and National Highway Authority regarding the project.
The Chief Minister said that Chitral is the biggest district of the province and
funds should be provided on the basis of backwardness and area in future. He
said that no army action has been taken in Chitral during Malakand operation,
however, terrorism in other districts has created adverse impacts on Chitral as
well. He announced that share will be provided to Chitral in resources obtained
under Malakand package. He also announced establishment of new Benazir Bhutto
Shaheed power station and renaming of Chitral By-Pass road to Abdul Wali Khan
By-Pass Road adding that cost of 200 million for construction of By-Pass road
have been approved while 100 million rupees will be allocated in next year
budget for this purpose. He said that the construction of new power house will
fulfill the needs of electricity of Chitral and the province. He announced the
establishment of community police based on 200 personnel in Chitral and doubling
of Chitral police and said that this will assist in capacity building of
security adding that it will also provide job opportunities to the people of the
Chitral. He said that the announced projects of Cadet Colleges for Charsadda and
Chitral have not been stopped but the work has been delayed due to shortage of
funds. He said that construction work on Chitral Cadet College will commence
next year. He thanked the Prime Minister in this regard. The Chief Minister also
assured visit of Darosh on demand of the people of Darosh. The chief minister
has also taken notice of undue delay in work on construction of bridge over
river Yarkhon and has directed for inquiry into the matter. He also announced
the provision of 30 lakh rupees from his personal fund for controlling of
breakage of river Chitral at Danin.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Doctors’ Colony and newly built
Maternity Hospital at Sangor. He also approved the construction of Girls High
School for Kosht village and provision of four Dialysis Machines for Chitral
Health department on request of MPA Haji Ghulam Muhammad. Citing political
harmony in the province, the chief minister said that complete political harmony
exist among parties in the coalition government and the journey of provincial
rights, solution to problems and development and prosperity of the people will
continue in future with this spirit.
Earlier, the chief minister was warmly welcomed upon reaching Chitral on his one
day visit. Provincial Minister for Population Salim Khan, MPA Ghulam Muhammad,
district Nazim, DCO tehsil Nazim and ANP Workers received the chief minister at
Chitral Airport. The whole bazaar from Chitral Airport to DCO Office has been
decorated with flags of ANP and colorful ribbons.
