Chief Minister of Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Wednesday appealed to the international community to help his government revive and strengthen various social sectors of the province.

“Our government is giving top priority to the development and promotion of social sectors include education, health, agriculture and urban development for which the international community should extend more and more support,” the chief minister told Austrian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ms. Zorica Mc Cathy, who called on him at his office on Wednesday.

The Australian HC Ms Mc Cathy on this occasion told the chief minister that her government in collaboration with World Food Programme would provide food items to the school children in the province. She said the aim of the programme was to persuade students and their parents in remote areas particularly in tribal areas towards education.

Chief Minister said that there was a dire need of making strong the social sectors in the settled areas near the tribal region.

Meanwhile, Greece High Commissioner to Pakistan Mr. Petros Mavroidis called on the chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti at his office on Wednesday and discussed with him matters of mutual interests.

Speaking on the occasion, Ameer Haider Hoti said that Pakistan and Afghanistan were tied in centuries-old historic, religious and cultural bonds.

He said that peace in neighboring Afghanistan was linked to peace in tribal region of the country which had direct bearing on the adjacent settled parts of the province.

Hoti said his government inherited the issues of insecurity, price-hike and lack of basic facilities of life from the past regime and his government was committed to cope with the problems through its sincere efforts.

He said the provincial government was taking practical measures for the promotion of various social sectors including education, health, agriculture, irrigation, etc.

He further said that the province had been gifted with numerous natural resources. However, he stressed the need for utilizing the potential in these resources for the uniform development of the province.
 
He said the government will provide every attractive incentive to foreign investors who were keen to take benefit from potentials in various sectors.
