The meeting was informed that the program is successfully moving ahead in 40
selected Union Councils of Mardan, Karak Upper Dir and Battagram. The chief
minister agreed proposal of commencement of the program in remaining union
councils of the concerned districts under the second phase.

Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti has directed finance
department for release of 267.5 million to administration of Malakand division
in order to dispensate pending cases of compensation to heirs of shuhadas and
injured of terror incidents. The elected government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is
taking remarkable steps for strengthening of police force.

He expressed these views while chairing a high level meeting at his office on
Wednesday. Matters related to compensation of damages due to war on terror,
police force and facilities for its martyrs, Prime Minister’s package for
security purposes and other concerned matters and progress on it remained under
discussion during the meeting. Participants of the meeting included provincial
finance minister Muhammad Hamayun Khan, Chief Secretary Ghulam Dastageer, IGP
Fayaz Khan Toro, Administrative Secretaries of Finance, Planning & Development,
and Home Department, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Mazar-ul-Haq
Kakakhel of project coordination unit.

The meeting was briefed that compensation to 742 martyrs and 338 injured by
terror incidents remains pending due to unavailability of funds. The Chief
Minister directed finance department for the release of fund and administration
of Malakand division for resolving the cases in order to lessen problems and
difficulties of affected families. Facilities and cash awards for families of
police martyrs, free education of Shuhadas children, provision of plot, payment
of Shuhadas salaries till completion of their jobs periods, annual increments
and other benefits to families of Shuhadas were also been reviewed during the
meeting and important decisions were taken in this connection. The Chief
Minister said police force of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has gallantly faced terrorism
and in untoward circumstances and has proved itself a remarkable force. The
present government will leave no stone unturned for welfare of the police force.
 

Meanwhile the Chief Minister chaired detailed briefing of Bacha Khan Poverty
Alleviation Program and said the program is playing effective role in provision
of employment opportunities, social security, development, health insurance of
deserving and poor people and training in technical sector and it created better
results in concerned districts. Participants of the meeting were ACS,
Chairperson SRSP Mrs Munawer Hamayun, Chief Executive Officer Masood ul Mul,
Coordinator Bacha Khan Poverty Alleviation Program Omer Mohammed, Former Chief
Secretary Mohammed Azam Khan, Col. (R) Alamzeb, Former MD Bank of Khyber Bashir
Ahamd and other high officials concerning the program.
