Chief Minister of Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said that
classes in Bacha Khan Medical College Mardan will be started in October-November
next year.

Presiding over a meeting at the Frontier House in Peshawar on Wednesday, the CM
directed for expediting pace of works on the project for its early completion so
that the male and female medical students not only from Mardan, but also from
Malakand, Swabi and other nearby districts could gain benefit from it.

The meeting was also attended by district Mardan nazim Himayatullah Mayar and
other participants were additional Chief Secretary, personal secretary to CM
Tariq Jamil and others.

Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said that the elected provincial government besides
provision of basic health facilities to the people of the province was also
striving for giving opportunities of higher medical education to the students.

He said it was a much-awaited demand of the people of Mardan district and their
dream for having an upgraded Mardan Medical Complex, medical college and
university would also be materialized.

He further said that Mardan Medical Complex would not only provide medical
treatment to the people of Mardan and nearby districts but would also help
reduce pressure on leading hospitals in the provincial capital.

The chief Minister was thoroughly briefed about the projects of Bacha Khan
Medical College and up-gradation of Mardan Medical Complex in details.
Expressing his satisfaction over works at Bacha Khan Medical College Mardan, the
CM Pakhtunkhwa directed for expediting the pace of work on the project for its
early completion.

CM Hoti was told that the college would be constructed on a 70 kanal land in the
premises of Mardan Medical Complex and initially 50 students would be granted
admissions into the college which would be increased with the passage of time.

It is expected that the foundation stone of the college would be laid next
month, the Chief Minister was told. The meeting was also briefed regarding
three-phased up gradation of the Mardan Medical Complex. The first phase has
been completed while work on the second phase has been expedited and work on the
third phase would start soon.
