Charsadda: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said
that safety of flood affectees, their prompt assistance and rehabilitation is
dearer to him than his personal security.
He was talking to media persons upon reaching Munda Headworks, irrigation
project in district Charsadda without prior notice and security. Infrastructure
of Munda Headworks damaged heavily due to current flood. Senior Provincial
Ministers Bashir Ahmad Bilour and Rahim Dad Khan and Provincial Minister
Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain also accompanied him. The Chief Minister
examined damaged infrastructure of Munda Headworks and ongoing rehabilitation
work. He was apprised of damages due to flood.
The Chief Minister talked intimately to affectees on the occasion and sought
informations regarding their problems and difficulties. The Chief Minister
assured them sooner provision of food items and tents.
Talking to media men, the Chief Minister said that Munda Headworks is heavily
damaged and its rehabilitation will take long time. However, he said that
provision of food, tents and other needs to affectees is his prior
responsibility. He said that rehabilitation work on Munda Headworks is in
progress and additional heavy machinery will be shifted here in order that canal
supply should be used temporarily for irrigation purposes. He said that thousand
acres of land is affecting adversely due to devastation of Munda Headworks and
we are trying to rehabilitate supply of canal under temporary arrangement.
The Chief Minister said that he was himself here for knowing needs of people of
the area and situations adding that they are our brothers and serving them in
this hour of trial is our prior responsibility. Referring to another query, the
Chief Minister said that decision of life and death rests with God Almighty and
who will assist flood affectees if we start thinking of this. He said that we
need to serve the flood affectees without any security concerns and it is alone
our prior responsibility and their prayers will ensure our security.
